The Model That’s Working

This video takes us to Memo, in Gaza Province - the site of MWA’s very first Protected Farming Community, implemented in March 2022.

8 hectares protected. 52 families benefiting.

And a community that has seen its reality change from uncertainty to stability.

The testimony from Memo speaks for itself: safer harvests, restored confidence, and a future where farming is no longer defined by fear of elephant incursions.

The film also features Atanásio, one of our Elephant Shepherds in Moamba, reflecting on his daily work supporting communities and preventing conflict before it escalates.

Together, these stories show what the Protected Farming Communities Initiative aims to scale across Mozambique: community leadership, practical protection, and a path to coexistence built from the ground up.
