The Pangolin is an endangered species known as the world's most trafficked mammal, wanted for its scales and meat.
It is believed by some that the pangolin scales and bones have the highest cultural significance among traditional healing practices.
A female Pangolin was confiscated from a local community keeping it for traditional ceremonies. The pangolin was handed over to MWA veterinarians, who after determining its condition released the healthy and strong Pangolin back into The Maputo Special Reserve.
