"Collar-ful" News from Moamba District!
One elephant, Mulwene, from a herd of five bulls in the southern region of EN4 has been collared for Human-Elephant Conflict (HEC) monitoring and mitigation. This initiative is a joint effort between MWA, ANAC, Elephant Crisis Fund (ECR), and Elephants Alive (EA).
The bull has been equipped with a GPS/VHF collar to enable precise tracking and analysis.
This move aims to enhance our understanding of elephant movement patterns and behavior, helping us mitigate conflicts between humans and elephants. Accurate data collection is key to ensuring the safety of both species.
