Last week, our team carried out a domestic animal vaccination and sterilization campaign in Debinduanda, Namaacha—a known human-wildlife conflict hotspot and home to one of MWA’s Protected Farming Communities.

Although not directly part of the PFC program, this action forms part of MWA’s broader One Health approach—recognizing that healthier domestic animals contribute to safer, more resilient communities living alongside wildlife.
Campaign results:
41 animals intervened
35 dogs and 6 cats vaccinated against rabies
3 dogs castrated
These interventions reduce disease transmission, stabilize local dog populations, and ultimately support coexistence in areas where wildlife, livestock, and people share the same landscape.
Conducted in partnership with the National Administration of Conservation Areas (ANAC) and the District Services for Economic Activities (SDAE), this work strengthens the foundation for long-term human-wildlife conflict mitigation in Namaacha district.
Great job!!!👏
May this action reduce disease transmission risk among people-wild animals-domestics animals.
Promoting the well being.🫶
