Elephants Collared in Chimanimani National Park

A small glimpse at a three-day collaring mission in Chimanimani National Park:

Elephants, both adults aged approximately 30 and 40 years old, have been equipped with advanced satellite and VHF collars in Chimanimani National Park (CNP).

This collaborative effort, in partnership with ANAC and FFI Biofund, aims to monitor these animals in real-time, enabling effective conflict prevention and management.

This marks the first time that an operation of this scale has been conducted at CNP. By tracking their movements and engaging with local communities, this project promises a safer, more balanced future for both people and the park's iconic elephants.
