The MWA vet team responded to a request from ANAC to assist in the rescue of a young African Fishing Eagle found in Maputo City. The eagle had been attacked by a group of crows, preventing its escape.
Upon receiving the eagle, the vet team conducted a thorough assessment to determine the extent of any injuries and to assess the bird's overall health. Fortunately, the initial examination revealed no injuries, and the bird was deemed to be in good condition. Despite the lack of physical harm, the young eagle was kept under close observation, for a few days, by the vigilant vet team to ensure its well-being.
After a period of careful monitoring, the rehabilitated eagle was released into Maputo National Park providing it with the ideal environment to regain strength and resume its rightful place in the ecosystem!
