Veterinarians of the Mozambique Wildlife Conservation Association (AMCFB) are authorized professionals dedicated to safeguarding Mozambique's biodiversity. Working in collaboration with authorities, especially ANAC, these experts provide critical veterinary support to wildlife, as outlined by national legal frameworks and agreements.

Legal Frameworks and Partnerships:

  • Law No. 5/2017: Recognizes the importance of ensuring the health and welfare of threatened species through expert veterinary care in emergencies, rehabilitation, and proper management.

  • Decree No. 89/2017: Authorizes entities like AMCFB to employ veterinarians for wildlife management, monitoring, and veterinary care, following approved protocols.

  • AMCFB-ANAC Partnership Agreement: Establishes the responsibilities of AMCFB veterinarians in capturing, relocating, rehabilitating wildlife, and monitoring species through telemetry, as well as providing technical support for disease management.
