Chang

Manjacaze District

Located in the northern part of Gaza Province, Chang Agricultural Association is 260.5km from Maputo, plus an additional 60km from Manjacaze. It borders Inhambane to the east and is renowned for its rich soils, ideal for growing cashews, sugar cane, and oranges.

The area is home to diverse wildlife and bird species, including guinea fowl and occasional ostrich sightings. Our electric fence protects 15.2 hectares, with 9 hectares currently cultivated, collaborating with 45 families. This initiative addresses water disputes between humans and wildlife, especially elephants and warthogs, promoting sustainable farming and community resilience.
