Legitimacy and Functions
The Wildlife Agents of the Mozambique Wildlife Conservation Association (AMCFB) work directly with national authorities to monitor and investigate crimes against wildlife. Their activities are legitimized by official legal frameworks and partnerships.

Legal Frameworks and Partnerships:

Law No. 5/2017: Authorizes collaboration between civil society organizations and government authorities, including ANAC, to promote biodiversity monitoring, control, and protection.

Decree No. 89/2017, Article 140: Grants agents the authority to detain offenders caught in the act and confiscate items related to environmental crimes, in formal partnership with ANAC.

AMCFB-ANAC Partnership Agreement: Formalizes collaboration with ANAC for wildlife crime investigations, monitoring, legal assistance, and specialized training.
The Agent’s Commitment
AMCFB agents actively participate in field operations, always in compliance with current legislation, to protect Mozambique’s biodiversity and combat environmental crimes.
