Targeted Solutions for HEC

In response to escalating reports of Human-Elephant Conflict (HEC) in Moine, a group of six bulls was identified as key contributors to the issue. As a proactive measure, one bull was selected to receive a VHF collar equipped with a GSat device for enhanced tracking.

The collar, integrated with the GSat device, enables real-time monitoring of the bull's movements. This initiative, conducted in partnership with ANAC and the Darwin Initiative, aims to improve the ability of Human-Wildlife Conflict (HWC) teams to respond to conflict incidents in the area.

By utilizing this technology, we can gather data on the bull's behavior patterns, facilitating targeted strategies for mitigating HEC incidents, thereby reducing potential risks to both human communities and elephant populations.
